About the Role
This part-time, parental leave replacement position presents the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary manner in a variety of educational settings alongside highly motivated colleagues from the Wellbeing Team. The DOBCEL Speech Pathology Team adheres to practices recommended by Speech Pathology Australia by engaging in different models of practice including tele-practice.

The Speech Pathologist works collaboratively with the broader Catholic Education Team and schools to promote inclusive practices and strengthen the ability to identify and effectively support students with diverse learning requirements.
This role involves delivering high-quality speech pathology services aimed at improving students' communication skills and enhancing their access to learning across primary and secondary schools within the Diocese of Ballarat.
Some of the Key Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assess, interpret and analyse referred students data and communication needs, to support educational programming. This may include administration of standardised assessments, classroom observations and checklists. These assessments may be implemented both in person or via telepractice. Assessments can include the areas of Speech, Language, Pragmatics, Phonology, Voice and Fluency skills.
- Liaise with parents, school staff and community partners to support the development of a Personalised Learning Plan for students - when required - that outline targeted learning goals with a focus on inclusive access to the curriculum and development of communication skills.
- Provide a commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and young people;
