Languages KLA 1 Point Coordinator
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Languages Coordinator to join the College, commencing at the start of the 2026 College year. The position carries a 1-point coordinator allowance. The ability to teach Japanese is an advantage.

About the role
The Languages Coordinator will provide leadership and direction within the Languages Faculty, promoting engaging, high-quality language programs and supporting staff in the delivery of excellent teaching and learning. The successful applicant will report to the Director of Curriculum and be an active contributor to the College’s academic and co-curricular life.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate the Languages Faculty in curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting.
- Model and promote effective teaching strategies that foster student engagement and achievement.
- Mentor and support staff within the faculty to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen literacy and intercultural understanding across the curriculum.
- Develop and promote initiatives that celebrate language learning and cultural awareness within the College community.
- Model and promote the College’s Catholic values and the Edmund Rice Charism.
The Languages 1 Point Coordinator position is a promotional role appointed for a period of three (3) years, with the opportunity for a further three (3) years pending review. The underlying teaching position is full time and permanent.
Essential Criteria:
- A strong commitment to Catholic values, morals, and faith in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
- Proven leadership capacity, with the ability to inspire and mentor others (for Coordinator applicants).
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging language programs that cater for diverse learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
Highly Desirable Criteria:
- Experience leading a faculty or contributing to curriculum and program development.
- Demonstrated expertise or interest in teaching Japanese.
- A passion for student-centred learning and intercultural education.
- High-level ICT skills and experience integrating technology in a blended learning environment.
- Willingness to contribute to co-curricular and cultural enrichment activities.
Salary and Conditions
Teachers at St Dominic’s College are employed under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023.
This leadership position attracts an additional 1-point Coordinator Allowance.
The salary will be reflective of NESA accreditation level and teaching experience, with an estimated annual salary between $112 461 and $146 662
