St Simon the Apostle Catholic Primary School is located in Rowville.
We are seeking a dynamic classroom teacher to join our St Simon's Community. Graduate teachers encouraged to applied.
The position is offered as fixed-term of 12 months for the 2026 school year.

We are seeking a teacher who is able to demonstrate:

• a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and to the safety and well-being of all students
• ability to work effectively in an energetic team.
• a proven record of building positive partnerships with students, their families, staff and the wider school community members.
• use data effectively to inform the teaching and learning of students
• commitment to ongoing professional learning as part of a school community.
• knowledge and understanding of Explicit teaching strategies and instruction delivering the Victorian Curriculum.
• the ability to plan and deliver learning experiences that are differentiated to accommodate a range of abilities and learning styles.

The teacher position will be initially offered on a fixed-term basis for 12 months,with the possibility of further employment depending on staffing levels.

The successful applicant must have:

• full registration or provisional registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
• be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School. (or working towards this)
• knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and of the expectations of a staff member in adhering to them
• read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Child Safe Code of Conduct
• read, and be aware of, the attached statement on the 'Principles Regarding Catholic Education
• a list of referees and contact details for Child Safety assessment and suitability purposes.

St. Simon the Apostle School, Rowville was established in 1982, with an initial enrolment of 92 pupils and a staff of six, the second school established by the Parish of St. Jude’s, Scoresby. Rev. Father Les Tomlinson was appointed the first Parish Priest in 1988 when the Parish of St. Simon the Apostle was formed.
