Oakhill College is an Independent Catholic Secondary School conducted in the Lasallian tradition, with an enrolment of 2250 students, boys Years 7 to 10, co-educational in Years 11 and 12. Oakhill College is located in Castle Hill, NSW, and offers a wide range of subject choices and extra-curricular activities.

Academic Head of English

(Coordinator 3)

We welcome applications from innovative, relational, and highly skilled Leaders of English. To play a pivotal role in shaping the English curriculum and fostering a culture of academic and pastoral excellence. Your capacity to consolidate and propel the existing, well-established structures forward will be instrumental in this endeavour. The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership, management, administrative, interpersonal, and exceptional teaching skills.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, the areas listed below:

  • Proven ability to effectively administer a faculty and lead learning;
  • Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner with experience teaching English across Stages 4-6;
  • Effectively manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student wellbeing practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the college’s Learning Framework effectively, while fostering a collaborative and collegial approach;
  • Proven capacity to work as an active member of a dynamic professional learning community;
  • Have highly developed interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, parent/carers, and community members;
  • Align professional learning to the needs of students;
  • Developing a climate of excellence;
  • Sound pedagogical practices;
  • Inspiring students to aspire;
  • Be willing to contribute to the broader extracurricular endeavours of College life as an active member of the College community.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to the Mission of the Catholic School;

The appointment is for an initial period of up to 3 years, renewable by mutual agreement.
