Principal Consultant Secondary Curriculum and Assessment

The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat support to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority and is responsible for implementing the decisions of the Authority. The Division supports the delivery of quality curriculum, assessment and standards for Kindergarten to Year 12 education, enabling Western Australian students to become confident and creative learners, and active and informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

The Role

We are looking for a Principal Consultant - Secondary Curriculum and Assessment to work within Accounting and Finance curriculum.

This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Accounting and Finance curriculum and assessment materials that support the implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline (Outline) and the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). The position provides high-level curriculum expertise to support course development, assessment standards, Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course examinations and moderation activities to ensure consistent state-wide comparability of student achievement standards.

The role coordinates and monitors curriculum, assessment and related projects and initiatives, ensuring outcomes are delivered within agreed timeframes and budget requirements. The role may also include responsibility for overseeing an additional Humanities and Social Sciences learning area.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
  • hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check

    4. Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in undertaking consultation, stakeholder engagement, collaboration and negotiation.
    5. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership.
