This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing as soon as possible with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency

Jerramungup District High School (DHS) is located in the wheat and sheep farming community of Jerramungup, 440km South East of Perth. It is situated within the Fitzgerald Biosphere which is part of the acclaimed Fitzgerald National Park, located nearby to the east of Jerramungup. Nearby to the south is the coastal community of Bremer Bay. Students from five small towns and communities in the region attend Jerramungup DHS for their secondary education. Jerramungup works very closely with these schools to ensure that the transition between the two is seamless. A school bus service is available to transport students to the school from each community and farm in the region. The school currently caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Other educational facilities in Jerramungup include a playgroup, day care centre and community resource centre.

The Role

Join our team as an Education Assistant - Mainstream and play a vital role in shaping the lives of students. As an Education Assistant, you will support our teachers in delivering planned education programs and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a real cultural impact in the lives of students and to develop your own skills and autonomy in a supportive environment.

You will be responsible for assisting teachers in delivering planned education programs, including the operation of computers and implementing individual or small group programs or demonstrations. You will also help maintain the learning environment by keeping equipment, materials, and resources organized and ready for use in classes and activities, and by helping to keep the classroom clean and safe. This role will provide you with the opportunity to play a positive impact in the lives of students and to develop your own skills and autonomy in a supportive environment.
