Deputy Principal
We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Mount Hawthorn Education Support Centre is currently located at the Mount Hawthorn Primary School site and will be relocating to the Lake Monger Primary School site in Wembley in Semester 2, 2027. The centre is founded on a strong commitment to high expectations, consistency and excellence in teaching and learning. The centre aims to provide an alternative learning environment for students with special needs. We aim to promote and develop students' educational, physical and social skills while increasing independence and knowledge in preparation for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of their future.

The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally be enthusiastic and experienced to lead a portfolio which includes delivery of curriculum through whole school approaches, staff development, student services and innovative programs.
As an integral part of the school leadership team, the suitable applicants will ideally possess the personal attributes to foster the established school culture of genuine care, respect, and support for colleagues, which is the foundation for the important work we do together every day to create optimal learning conditions for our students to flourish.
Suitable applicants should ideally display the ability to lead change, improve teacher practices by modelling effective teaching strategies, coach colleagues to enhance their skills and coordinate student services by engaging with parents, staff, external consultants, and stakeholders to support a range of complex student needs. The ability to remain flexible, effectively prioritise competing demands, and manage multiple tasks while being resilient and compassionate, are desirable attributes.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
