The School
Denmark Senior High School (SHS) is a high performing school located in the Shire of Denmark within the Great Southern region of Western Australia and near the banks of the Denmark River. Built on its current site in 2000, the school is set on 19 hectares of land one kilometre east of the town centre. The school provides a comprehensive Year 7 to Year 12 secondary school education.

The Role
Are you a passionate Home Economics teacher seeking to empower every student to strive to achieve?
Denmark SHS is an Independent Public School seeking to appoint a highly competent, creative and innovative Home Economics teacher to join their team commencing in 2027.
The successful applicant will ideally display a commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive and reflective practice, ensuring that wellbeing, equity and engagement provide the foundation for achievement. They should possess a capacity to deliver a curriculum which is engaging, relevant and meaningful to students. Capacity to teach senior schooling courses relevant to this context will be looked upon favourably.
The successful applicant will ideally plan strategically for positive outcomes and with high professional knowledge in instructional practice. Guided by evidence and informed by Teaching for Impact, they will ideally use high-impact strategies and continuously evaluate their effectiveness to ensure all students learn successfully. Possessing the skills to differentiate the curriculum to cater for a range of abilities, including special needs, is highly regarded. They should aim to sustain a culture that promotes educational best practice and possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
