The Role
We are seeking to appoint a friendly and committed Senior Gardener – handyperson to join our team.
The successful applicant will maintain the school grounds including turf areas, garden beds, shrubs and trees to ensure that they are presented in a safe and tidy state as far as conditions allow, providing students and staff with a safe external learning environment. Part of the role includes, performing tasks and duties using safe work practices, including following Safety Data Sheet guidelines, in a timely manner with minimal disruption to students and staff. The successful applicant would manage hazardous substances in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation, including maintaining Safety Data records as required.
Ideally, the desired applicant should possess good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate and supervise staff. The ideal applicant should ideally have experience in servicing horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
