About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes strong relationships among students, staff, parents, and the wider community. They will lead the development of an environment where student wellbeing, engagement and achievement are at the centre of all decision-making.

Working as a key member of a co-located school community, the successful applicant will collaborate closely with the principal and site leadership teams to support effective partnerships and coordinated approaches across the site.

In this role, you will:

  • Prioritise student wellbeing, safety and learning outcomes in all decisions, recognising a shared responsibility for the success of all students across the site.
  • Work respectfully and collaboratively within a multi-school environment, acknowledging the authority, autonomy and statutory responsibilities of each principal.
  • Support coordinated planning and decision-making across the site by ensuring both principals are actively involved in discussions and initiatives, including: shared-use agreements; facility upgrades and capital works projects; allocation of transportable classrooms; and strategic planning to accommodate current and future enrolment growth.
  • Communicate in a transparent, timely and professional manner, contributing to a culture of trust, respect and mutual accountability.
  • Engage in early consultation and collaborative problem-solving, proactively addressing issues and identifying solutions before escalation is required.
  • Support fair and consistent processes that ensure equitable access to shared facilities, resources and opportunities.
  • Operate in accordance with Department policies, the Code of Conduct and child safety requirements, embedding these expectations in all aspects of practice.
  • Contribute to structured and respectful approaches to issue resolution, including adherence to agreed governance processes and escalation pathways where required.

Principals are expected to be innovative and strategic leaders who establish effective systems and structures that drive academic excellence and support students' social, emotional and developmental needs. They play a critical role in engaging a diverse school community and fostering strong partnerships that enhance educational outcomes.

A commitment to continuous school improvement is essential. Successful principals demonstrate a strong focus on teaching and learning, including the development of high-quality instructional practice and the support of early career teachers. They build productive networks with schools, agencies and community organisations to strengthen opportunities and outcomes for students and their families.
