About the Town

Bundaberg is a coastal Queensland city located approximately 370 kilometres north of the state capital Brisbane. The city and surrounding areas are home to around 103,000 people. Bundaberg enjoys a beautiful sub-tropical climate with warm temperatures all year round and is popular with tourists due to its location at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef. A major industry in the city is sugar production and the surrounding areas are carpeted with lush sugar cane fields.

About the Role

As the Principal, you will be responsible for delivering the department's vision, improving student educational outcomes, enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, and fostering positive relationships among students, teachers, the community, and stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
  • Futures oriented and strategic.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.
