Summary
St Augustine's College is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable person, to help maintain our college grounds and facilities and support the day-to-day operation of our college.

- Salary: School Services Staff Level 2 - $64,456 per annum + super

About the opportunity
In this Grounds Service Office (Facilities) position, you will help ensure our college grounds and facilities remain safe, well-presented, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.
This is a hands-on role that involves making basic infrastructure repairs and general site and yard maintenance. Requirement to set up for events and ensure day to day operational readiness for the college.
This role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance experience—who enjoys outdoor work and variety in their day. You’ll be part of a collaborative; friendly team committed to maintaining a high standard across our college.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Carry on responsibilities to maintain school grounds and facilities to a high standard
- Facilitating general repairs and maintenance (excluding work requiring licensed trades)
- Respond to maintenance requests efficiently
- Assist in Contractor management
- Assist staff with setup and pack up of school events and activities
- Maintain work requests through our CMMS (MEX)
- Work independently and as part of a supportive team
- Uphold the college's values and contribute to a positive and safe school culture.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Practical maintenance/grounds experience (school grounds, trades, facilities, horticulture, parks, property care)
- Ability to assist in preparing ovals for sporting events and carnivals
- Skilled in safely operating and maintaining small machinery, ensuring safety for all
- Experience in equipment and plant maintenance (including ordering and purchasing materials), following the grounds maintenance plan
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to plan, prioritise and work independently
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
- A proactive, can-do attitude and pride in your work
- Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level, or completion of an apprenticeship
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
