The Role

We are seeking a dedicated teacher who shows initiative and a commitment to providing high quality teaching and engaging learning programs in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The successful applicant should ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong, positive relationships with students, parents and staff. They will successfully implement the Western Australian Curriculum and provide meaningful learning opportunities with a strong focus on developing Literacy and Numeracy skills across all developmental phases of learning. We are committed to whole school approaches, and our teachers work from the TPS Whole School Instructional Framework Handbook providing high quality evidence-based pedagogy. Currently our school uses MultiLit, Talk4Writing, Maths Trek, Hegarty, Inquisitive, Elastiks and Progressive Achievement Tests (PATS). A knowledge of these programs will be well regarded.

It is desired that applicants can effectively differentiate the curriculum according to student needs. They should ideally have the skills to maintain an engaging, orderly and caring learning environment. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills will be required to support the development of a positive and respectful culture using restorative practices. Some confidence in using Information and Communication Technology to enhance teaching and learning will be well recognised.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
