Teacher - Primary

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

Pingelly Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate, hardworking Primary Teacher to join their regional school, teaching a senior classroom.

Pingelly PS is located 160 kilometres south-east of Perth. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are drawn from the rural community and from the town itself. Thirty percent of the school's students are Aboriginal. Student numbers may increase as families are drawn to Pingelly 'lifestyle' opportunities and the nearby mining venture in Boddington.

Our experienced staff are committed to a 'Working in Teams' approach to deliver an inclusive and balanced curriculum which addresses the diverse needs of our students. A comprehensive pastoral care system supported by the Grass Roots Foundation is embedded in the operations of the school. Various extension programs are offered to our students in Photography in connection to Desert Light Foundation, Writing and Mathematics. The school has strong collaborative partnerships with parents and the wider community.

Find out more about our school by visiting www.pingellyps.wa.edu.au or Schools Online.

The Role

At Pingelly PS, our mantra is STRIVE and we have high expectations of our staff, high expectations of our students and high expectations of our community. We believe that collaboration is the key to maximising student outcomes, so we value applicants who are willing to buy into our ‘Working in Teams’ approach. At Pingelly PS, all staff learn together, plan together, teach together and understand the importance of using data to drive decision-making processes. It is important to us that all staff and students have a sense of belonging in our school and this is nurtured through a positive school culture and calm, orderly and predictable learning environments.

The successful applicant should ideally pursue excellence in teaching and learning and have a willingness to support the implementation of whole school approaches. Our instructional model has explicit teaching at its core and encompasses evidence based whole school approaches in the teaching of synthetic phonics, comprehension, mathematics, and writing across the entire school.

The successful applicant should ideally be innovative and systematic in their approach, using high impact teaching strategies and targeted differentiation (Tier 2 interventions) in literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional learning areas. Experience with the following whole school programs is ideal but not essential - InitiaLit, Talk for Writing, Berry Street and Zones of Regulation.
