Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a passionate Learning Strategies Teacher to inspire our girls and boys at our Primary School Grimwade House commencing in 2026 (flexible start date). The role of the Teacher of Learning Strategies is to facilitate and support student learning, across all domains including social and emotional, academic, physical and spiritual, with the goal to maximise the individual growth of students in a challenging and supportive environment.
The Learning Strategies Teacher plays a vital role in supporting students who require learning adjustments, curriculum modifications, and targeted intervention. This role involves working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure that all students can access and engage meaningfully with the curriculum. This is a permanent, full-time teaching position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have enthusiasm for a commitment to teaching students from Prep to Year 6
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the learning needs of a wide range of abilities
- Have the ability to use formative assessment as a means of improving student learning
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure evidence based and innovative teaching and learning practices are continually improved
- Participating in all aspects of school life beyond the classroom.
You will:
- Have a flexible and dynamic approach to teaching and learning
- Have qualifications and experience within Special Education
- Collaborate with others to educate and nurture the whole person, fostering each student’s intellectual, spiritual, physical, psychological and emotional growth.
- Be an exceptional teacher whose professional practice and values aligns with the School and our approach to a holistic education
- Have exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Have a collaborative and collegial approach to sharing experience and knowledge
- Be supported to participate in external professional development opportunities.
VIT registration, or the ability to gain this, is essential for this position.
