Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood is currently seeking an energetic and passionate Teacher of Economics and Legal Studies. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and enjoy working in a dynamic and cohesive team.
This is for a permanent full-time role to start on 27 January 2026. For the right candidate there exists the possibility of a 2-point Year Coordinator role.

Specific Criteria
- Strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and our Vision of Authentic professional Catholic education delivered with care and compassion
- Be a highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner with experience teaching Economics and Legal Studies
- Embed innovative pedagogical practices including digital technology
- Differentiate the curriculum to meet diverse student learning
- Effectively manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices
- Be able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community
- Have highly developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, parents / carers and community members
- Align professional learning to the needs of students
- HSC marking experience advantageous though not essential
- Be willing to contribute to the broader extracurricular endeavours of College life as an active member of the College community
- Hold a valid Working With Children Check
- Must be a 4-year trained teacher
