Position Information

Coonamble High School is a comprehensive co-education high school with an enrolment of 165 student, 75% of whom identify as Indigenous. The school is part of the Connected Communities strategy and fosters an inclusive and supportive learning environment, supported by our School Reference Group, The AECG, P&C, Clontarf and NASCA.

Situated on the lands of the Wailwan and Gamilaraay people, Coonamble is located about 160 km north of Dubbo and has a population of around 3,000. Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach Mathematics (7-12).
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, whole school programs, and develop and sustain positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
• Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and to plan and implement differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies, including the Connected Communities Strategy.

Conditions

Successful applicants may be entitled to a relocation support payment of $5,000 to $8,000 for eligible applicants.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
