Position Information
Coonamble High School is a comprehensive co-education high school with an enrolment of 165 student, 75% of whom identify as Indigenous. The school is part of the Connected Communities strategy and fosters an inclusive and supportive learning environment, supported by our School Reference Group, The AECG, P&C, Clontarf and NASCA.
Situated on the lands of the Wailwan and Gamilaraay people, Coonamble is located about 160 km north of Dubbo and has a population of around 3,000. The town benefits from a vibrant sporting and community calendar, providing numerous opportunities for students, families, and staff to engage within the community.
The primary focus areas of Coonamble High School’s School Excellence Plan are Student Growth and Attainment, Wellbeing, and Aboriginal Education. Coonamble High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment, promoting student engagement, and delivering high-quality mathematics education.

Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Mathematics (7-12).
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, whole school programs, and develop and sustain positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
- Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and to plan and implement differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies, including the Connected Communities Strategy.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a relocation support payment of $5,000 to $8,000 for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
