Position Information

Hastings Secondary College Westport Campus is a coeducational high school located in the heart of Port Macquarie. It is one of two Year 7–12 campuses that make up Hastings Secondary College and part of the wider Hastings Valley Public Schools (HVPS) network - a collaborative community of eight local public schools committed to excellence and opportunity for every learner. With an enrolment of approximately 595 students, including 175 students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, Westport Campus celebrates a rich and diverse community. The campus features nine supported learning classes and an extensive curriculum that includes innovative academies in STEM, Sport, and the Creative & Performing Arts, along with specialist trade training facilities and an agricultural farm. The College is recognised nationally and internationally for its achievements in Robotics, a flagship program available to students across both campuses. Senior students benefit from cross-campus subject offerings in Stage 6, ensuring access to a broad and flexible curriculum that continues to deliver strong academic outcomes. Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach ITX Technology (Years 7 - 8).
• Demonstrated ability to work proactively within a faculty, contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of effective teaching programs and whole school initiatives that enhance student engagement and achievement.
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies and communicate productively with students, staff, parents and the wider community, demonstrating a commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive practices.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

The successful applicant will be appointed to Hastings Secondary College and initially based at the Westport Campus.
