Job description
Within this context the incumbent will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a social work service which supports young people and their families. The Social Worker will contribute to building the capability and capacity of young people to improve student transition, retention and attendance.
The Team
The Back on Track Team undertake meaningful outreach with young people who have not transitioned from year 10 to year 11 and/or 12 and are not currently meeting the requirements of the Education Act (2016). The primary purpose of the team is to support young people to navigate their barriers to learning to assist young people to re-engage in education or training.
Back on Track provides access to:
- A multidisciplinary team, and connection to the broader Student Support team
- A government car for use when providing outreach
- Individual and whole-team professional learning
- Supervision and an extensive range of staff wellbeing services within DECYP

We are looking for
Essential
- Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW.
- Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment
- Current Drivers Licence
Please note: The cost associated with obtaining a RWVP is the responsibility of the individual.
