Job description:
The North West Regional Hospital is seeking experienced Perioperative Registered Nurses across multiple areas, including Pre/Post Operative Day Surgery, Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics, and Recovery. The role requires passionate nurses who provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to a supportive and communicative work environment. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, nurses are expected to enhance patient outcomes through clinical excellence, strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to ongoing learning.
The Team
Set near a picturesque Tasmanian coastline, the North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160-bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive
The NWRH Theatre is a vibrant, supportive team consisting of four operating theatres providing Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT, Endoscopy and Dental services. NWRH Theatre is committed to a positive workplace culture, and excellent clinical care within a supportive environment. Standard working hours are a variety of shifts between the hours of 0700 and 2230 seven days a week, with the ability to offer flexible working arrangements, and on call service overnight. NWRH Theatres have a dedicated leadership and education team to support all learning and development needs.
The Role
- We are seeking experienced Perioperative Registered Nurses within Pre/Post Op Day Surgery, Scrub Scout, Anaesthetics and Recovery at the North West Regional Hospital.
- We are looking for passionate nurses who deliver the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. It is expected that within the dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a strong professional team approach through open communication and a positive supportive environment.
- Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the health outcomes of your patients through excellence in practice, fostering a learning culture, excellent communication skills and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- It is preferrable that the successful applicant has previous Perioperative Nursing experience.

Details of appointment
Multiple permanent full time & part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as can join our team!
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
