School Officer
We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
South Bunbury Education Support Centre (ESC) is a specialist setting which caters to the needs of students with diagnosis of high need Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Disability. With a steady student population of approximately 70 students, the school offers individual support and attention in all areas of student development.

The Role
The School Officer plays a key role in supporting the effective administration of the school's workforce and contributes to the efficient operation of the school through the delivery of high-quality human resource, financial and administrative services. Working closely with the Manager Corporate Services and school leadership, suitable applicants will assist with a range of HR functions, including recruitment, appointment and onboarding processes, relief coordination, employee records management, payroll and leave administration, and maintaining workforce data.
The School Officer provides advice and administrative support to staff on human resource policies and procedures, employment conditions, and workforce-related matters. They will assist with coordinating recruitment activities, preparing employment documentation, maintaining confidential personnel records, and ensuring compliance with Department of Education policies and legislative requirements. They will also support the induction of new employees and contribute to creating a positive and professional employee experience.
In addition to human resource responsibilities, the School Officer will provide general administrative support to the school, including maintaining databases and records management systems, preparing correspondence and reports, coordinating professional learning and staff compliance requirements, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, sound judgement, discretion when handling confidential information, and the ability to build positive working relationships while contributing to a collaborative and customer-focused school environment. Flexibility of work hours to manage school needs is desirable.

- Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
