We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant Special Needs (EASN) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

A unique aspect of Butler College is our endorsed Education Support Program. Our facility supports 80 students with special educational and medical needs. Our facilities include a hydrotherapy pool and a range of sensory spaces.

The Role

Our EASN’s play a vital role in supporting students from a range of backgrounds to access their educational programs. This role is suited to people with a passion and care for supporting students through unique and at times challenging circumstances.

You will be required to work collaboratively with your peers and apply teacher direction to meet the needs of our students. This may be in a 1:1 situation, leading a small group, or as part of a larger class setting.

Key to your success will be your problem solving and communication skills. Your ability to think proactively and apply plans and acquired knowledge to ensure the best possible outcome for all involved.

Knowledge and understanding of students with disabilities will be a foundational requirement, and the ability to apply this knowledge respectfully will allow you to succeed in the role.
