Humanities Teacher (Active) Expiring soon

Talent Focus is recruiting on behalf of a secondary school seeking a passionate Humanities Teacher (Years 7–10) for a full-time ongoing position. The school is based in the North of Melbourne’s CBD.

This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is committed to delivering engaging Humanities education within a values-driven school environment. The role focuses on teaching middle years students (Years 7–10) with no VCE requirements at this stage, allowing the successful applicant to concentrate on strong foundational learning, classroom engagement, and student development.

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering dynamic and well-structured Humanities programs that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Subjects may include History, Geography, Civics and related Humanities disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Humanities to students in Years 7–10
• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
• Create a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment
• Differentiate learning to meet a range of student abilities and needs
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing
• Contribute to a positive school culture and community life

We are open to applicants from a range of teaching backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, enthusiastic, and committed to working within a values-based educational setting.

You will have:

• A recognised teaching qualification (or equivalent)
• Registration, or eligibility for VIC teacher registration
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage secondary students
• Full working rights in Australia
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and learning
