Applications Close: 1 May 2026

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Vocal Tutor to join our vibrant music team. The role involves teaching students across both Upper Primary and Secondary years supporting a wide range of abilities from beginners to senior students preparing for their HSC exams.

This opportunity is to cover for the temporary absence of an existing tutor until April/May 2027. However, there may be an opportunity for the successful applicant to continue privately tutoring some RHAC students after this date.

About Us

Rouse Hill Anglican College (RHAC) is a highly regarded independent co-educational Christian school with approximately 1,600 students from Pre-K to Year 12. The College is located in the Hills District in Sydney’s northwest and is committed to a professional, collaborative and supportive workplace for all employees. The College has modern facilities, is very well resourced and can be easily accessed by car or the new Metro Northwest rail.

Basis of Employment

The successful applicant will be a private tutor, not a RHAC employee. The appointee will be responsible for directly billing the family of the students s/he tutors. By law, the tutor will be required to commit to a room hiring agreement that will include paying the school a fixed fee for the use of facilities. There are insurance requirements which will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

What We Are Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience teaching voice to students at various levels from Year 5 to Year 12
  • A relevant undergraduate degree and/or professional music qualifications
  • Excellent vocal technical skills and strong knowledge of vocal health
  • Well-developed communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate students and foster their love for music

Key responsibilities include

  • Teaching weekly private music lessons to Junior and Senior School students
  • Supporting students’ involvement in the College’s curricular and extra-curricular Music programs
  • Preparing students for external music examinations (e.g. AMEB)
  • Creating and communicating a lesson timetable with parents, students and Music staff
  • Liaising with parents and providing feedback on their child’s progress

Child Safety

The College actively promotes the safety and well-being of all students and requires all prospective staff to be suitable and committed to protecting students from abuse or harm in the school environment. The College implements the Child Safe Standards developed by the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
