About this job
Position Information
Canterbury South Public School is a growing school dedicated to fostering both academic growth and student wellbeing. Located between Earlwood, Clemton Park, and Campsie, the school is a proud member of the Canterbury Network. Currently, Canterbury South has an enrolment of 276 students, with 5% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 59% coming from a language background other than English.
The school operates within a contemporary co-teaching learning environment, where up to four classes collaborate in flexible learning spaces. Explicit teaching is deeply embedded, and students engage in lessons co-taught by teachers using a variety of co-teaching modes and strategies. Canterbury South promotes collective teacher efficacy by providing structured opportunities for Stage teams to analyse student assessment data, engage in shared professional learning, co-plan strategic learning experiences, and align teaching with student learning goals.
We foster a culture of collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and success, empowering both students and staff to reach their full potential. By embracing co-teaching environments, we lead in explicit teaching and collective efficacy. Our commitment to excellence in learning and wellbeing is strengthened through strong partnerships with students, families, and the wider community. We cultivate a vibrant, supportive culture where all belong, integrating practical wellbeing strategies to build resilience and equip students to face challenges with confidence and persistence.
Canterbury South’s commitment to student wellbeing, rigorous curriculum, and innovative assessment practices was recognised in 2024 when the school was externally validated as ‘Excelling’ in nine domains.
