Position Descriptor: We are seeking a passionate and skilled early years teacher to join our team at Learning Together Communities, Central Adelaide Hub, located at Enfield Primary School, South Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic learning community which provides a network of supported and community playgroups, playgroup mentoring program and parent education services for families with children birth to 5 years.

  • plan, set up and deliver highly engaging learning environments for supported playgroups facilitated in Department for Education sites including Children’s Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting.
  • actively participate in reflective practice to support the holistic development of children and strengthen partnerships with families; reviewing, resourcing and modifying your program for each site in response to family and community need.

You will:

  • facilitate children’s learning through play and empower parents to be their children’s first teachers through the delivery of Learning Together Communities curriculum, principles and dimensions.
  • access high-quality professional development to enable you to deliver the parent education courses offered by Learning Together Communities.
  • support the participation of families and children through strength-based practice, collaboration with the Central Adelaide Team, partnering outreach sites and the wider Learning Together Communities program and community networks, provision of safe and inclusive play and work environments.

What you’ll need:

  • Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to create positive and inclusive play environments for families
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, colleagues and other child and family services
