Position Information
Beresford Road Public School is a Kindergarten to Year 6 school in Western Sydney, comprising 20 mainstream classes and 7 Inclusive Learning classes supporting students with additional needs. The school community reflects a broad socio-educational mix, with an ICSEA value above the national average and an even distribution across all quartiles, highlighting a balanced and diverse context.
Student attendance remains strong and continues to show positive growth, supported by a shared commitment to engagement and wellbeing. Beresford Road Public school has 538 enrollments with approximately 60% of students come from English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) backgrounds, representing a rich blend of linguistic and cultural diversity. Around 4% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and their cultural identity and perspectives are embedded across school programs through consultation, curriculum integration, and the celebration of culture and community.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, intellectual disability and complex communication needs, with the ability to implement high-quality differentiated curriculum and develop effective individualised learning plans that enhance student engagement.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build a culture of inclusion, wellbeing and authentic relationships with students, parents, staff, external agencies and the wider community.
- Commitment to establishing inclusive partnerships with culturally and linguistically diverse families and communities, recognising and valuing different languages, cultures and identities to foster belonging, engagement and equitable learning opportunities for all students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
