We are a Catholic Coeducational Secondary College with two campuses, set on approximately 20 hectares of beautiful gardens and playing fields. MacKillop is an innovative learning community offering contemporary facilities, a vibrant curriculum and supportive wellbeing programs that are respectful and responsive to the individual needs of approximately 1,730 students from Years 7-12.

We are seeking an empathetic, and inclusive educator who demonstrates a willingness to engage in authentic, faith-based teaching for students to explore meaning, reflect deeply, question respectfully, and connect the message of Jesus in the Gospels to modern life.

Central to this role is the ability to confidently deliver Religious Education curriculum that develops students’ religious literacy and deepens their understanding of the rich tradition of the Catholic Church, including the intentional use of prayer, ritual, and liturgical celebrations in the classroom. Through explicit teaching, you will guide students through an encounter with Scripture, Church history, and Catholic social teaching, enabling them to appreciate the relevance and influence of our tradition on contemporary society.

The ideal candidate is a facilitator who can combine authentic witness with the ability to engage students in meaningful dialogue, drawing on their individual lived experiences and understanding of faith to support modern religious and spiritual practices as an integral part of ongoing formation.

Our MacKillop College community of talented educators strives to prepare their students for life both in and outside of the classroom through the delivery of an engaging academic and behavioural curriculum filled with learning experiences designed to encourage every student to achieve their personal and academic potential.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity however, part-time applications will also be considered. The successful applicant can commence Term 2, 2026.

• creative ways to integrate evidence-based practice into our academic and behaviour curriculum, to improve learning outcomes
• accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School (or working towards achievement)
• a passion for religious education with specific knowledge of the Catholic tradition
• a willingness to contribute to the liturgical life of the school, including assemblies and retreat programs
• a commitment to role modelling respect for every student’s individuality and learning diversity need
• a demonstrated ability to foster a welcoming and safe learning environment
• a commitment to work in a Catholic Education environment.
