Newborough Primary School (PS) became an Independent Public School in 2012 and has a proud history since opening in 1955. We are a Positive Behaviour, Wellbeing and Support school, promoting the values of Respect, Teamwork, Kindness, and Challenge Yourself. Our Business Plan reflects a strong focus on student wellbeing and the deliberate nurturing of a connected whole-school community. Staff and parents work in partnership to foster a caring, supportive, and family-oriented environment.

We are seeking a passionate and collaborative Year 5/6 teacher to join our team commencing Term 3. The successful applicant should be a skilled educator who builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider community, and who is committed to working collaboratively to support student success. They will ideally embrace our school values and be dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

At our school, we are guided by our vision that our school community inspires lifelong learners who are given the opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment. We are looking for a teacher who will actively uphold and bring this vision to life through high-quality teaching, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher with strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Our school places a high value on collaboration, positive culture, and shared responsibility for student outcomes.

We work within a connected whole-school approach, supported by collaborative team structures and a strong commitment to professional growth. We value innovation and leadership, and applicants with the capacity or aspiration to take on leadership opportunities will be highly regarded.

Experience in implementing whole-school programs such as Oxford Maths is highly desirable, as is familiarity with Promoting Literacy Development and Soundwaves. As we continue to strengthen our whole-school approach to Reading and Writing, experience in programs such as Talk for Reading and Talk for Writing will be advantageous, along with a willingness to share expertise with colleagues. Experience using Elastik would also be beneficial.

We are seeking an educator who displays accountability and a commitment to best practice through evidence-based teaching and differentiation. A consistent approach to classroom management, aligned with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), is beneficial to maintaining our positive and inclusive learning environment.

If you are a passionate educator ready to contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high expectations, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our team.
