Position Information

Putney Public School is located in Ryde and currently has an enrolment of 312 students. Our school culture is one of continuous growth for all our students and teachers, as we work collaboratively with our parents and community, to provide evidence-based, innovative practices in our pursuit of school excellence.

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (primary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
2. Demonstrated experience in assessment, differentiation and data-informed practice, with the ability to collaborate with teachers to analyse data and design, implement, monitor and evaluate individualised student support plans.
3. Capacity to provide direct support for students with additional learning and support needs through a range of strategies including the teaching of an explicit phonics program, targeted small group intervention, co-teaching, and planning and delivery of adjusted learning and social programs.
4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead professional learning for staff and collaborate with families, the Learning and Support team, allied health professionals, and external agencies to access resources and improve outcomes for students with complex and diverse needs.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
