Position Information

Georges Hall Public School is a P3 school with an enrolment of 704 students and a community that has high expectations. It is located in South Western Sydney in a low density residential zone in the Bankstown Local Government area. The school is set in expansive grounds serving an increasingly diverse, urban population. Currently over 79% of our students come from a language background other than English. The school has an ongoing commitment to the development and delivery of quality teaching and learning programs, with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy and explicit teaching. This is achieved through a solid, strategic professional development plan for all teaching staff. The integration of technology into all areas of teaching and learning helps create a rich, engaging learning environment. An Opportunity Class in Stage 3 and a strong focus on differentiation supports gifted and talented students. Strong analysis of internal and external data sources is an essential part of school evaluation and planning processes. Georges Hall Public School is a happy and caring school community with a Support Unit. PAX is embedded across the school and there is a strong focus on wellbeing.

Specific Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach English as an additional language or dialect or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in English as an additional language or dialect qualifications approved by the NSW Department of education
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with a capacity to maintain positive relationships, foster teamwork and engage all levels of school and the culturally diverse community.

Note: The Principal may choose to have Approval to Teach only Primary positions must include: Approval to teach infants and/or primary

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

This is a permanent part-time position of 4 days per week, 0.8FTE (full time equivalent)

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as an additional language or dialect (primary or secondary) as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
