Senior Client Service Officer / Registrar

  • Location: Albury (including travel to satellite locations such as Corowa, Finley, Deniliquin, Moama, Holbrook and Tumbarumba)
  • One ongoing full-time opportunity available for immediate start.
  • One temporary full-time opportunity available from March 2026 for a period of 7 months.
  • Clerk Grade 3/4, base salary ($84,659.00 - $92,701.00), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The role provides complex administrative services to meet statutory obligations and delivers high quality and professional services to clients. The role supervises staff and provides ‘hands-on’ training and guidance.

Within Albury, your role will involve supervising staff and allocating resources to ensure the registry standards are met and quality services are delivered to clients. You will work across civil, criminal and coronial areas throughout the Local Court, District Court, and Coroners Court jurisdictions.

When working at locations within the hub, your role may be a Registrar or Deputy Registrar in a court registry. You will be required to supervise a small team and effectively allocate resources to meet the Department’s requirements. The role may be required to perform some quasi-judicial and procedural functions.

You will be expected to rotate through the above roles.

What you’ll do

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Adapt to work in different locations and across different jurisdictions.
  • Support, supervise and train staff in a busy, changing and complex work environment whilst utilising strong organisational skills.
  • Be able to deliver high quality service to clients.
  • Identify and prioritise tasks and allocate personal and team resources to meet daily goals.
  • Ensure that team output is accurate, compliant with time standards and DCJ policies, and responsive to client needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at improving registry work practices.
  • Interpret and apply departmental policies and practices such as Bullying/Harassment prevention, EEO, EAPS, Code of Conduct, WH&S, Ethical Work Practices, Disability Awareness, ATSI Strategies.

What we’re looking for

  • You must hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence.
  • You must be willing to travel to other locations within the region. This will include overnight stays ranging from 1–9 nights per month. A departmental motor vehicle will be provided when available and the appropriate allowances paid for travel.
