Veritas Education is working in close partnership with secondary schools in the Keighley area to recruit passionate and resilient SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistants. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Role Overview: You will be supporting students with SEMH needs within an onsite school provision, helping them to access learning and manage their emotional wellbeing. The role requires a calm, empathetic and consistent approach, with a focus on building positive relationships and promoting engagement in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom
• Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs is highly desirable
• A patient, compassionate and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
