About the opportunity

Emmaus College currently an opportunty for a Secondary Teacher (English & Humanities) to join our team on a short-term fixed-term basis. In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging Secondary lessons, contribute to curriculum and assessment, and support students through positive relationships and effective classroom practice. This appointment is based in Jimboomba and will suit teachers who enjoy working closely with colleagues to improve learning outcomes.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
  • Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
  • Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcome
  • Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
