Clinical Pharmacist

Lachlan Health Service – Parkes & Forbes

About the role

Join a supportive and collaborative pharmacy team at Lachlan Health Service, with Forbes Hospital as the primary site and regular hours at Parkes Hospital. This role offers the opportunity to work in a well‑resourced regional hospital providing high‑quality care to its community.

You will contribute meaningfully as a valued member of the multidisciplinary team in an environment where relationships and community are central. The role is varied and engaging, with responsibilities that include:

  • Dispensing for inpatients, outpatients, and clinics
  • Providing clinical pharmacy services
  • Supporting medication safety initiatives, governance, and reporting

You will usually work as the sole pharmacist on site, supported by a pharmacy technician and the Director of Pharmacy, as well as the wider rural and regional pharmacy network across Western NSW Local Health District.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive orientation and ongoing support
  • Access to the wider Western NSW LHD rural and regional pharmacy team
  • Opportunities in continuing education, quality improvement, medication safety governance, and leadership development

Potential eligibility for the Allied Health Early Accelerated Development (AHEAD) Program

Who You’ll Work With

  • Pharmacy staff, medical officers, nurses, midwives, and the broader multidisciplinary team
  • On‑site support from a pharmacy technician and regular guidance from the Director of Pharmacy

Close connection with Western NSW LHD’s large and supportive regional pharmacy network
