About this job

The Director of Performing Arts (DOPA) provides the strategic, creative and cultural leadership that enriches student experience and strengthens the performing arts community across the School. The role spans co- curricular Music and Drama, including Speech and Drama from Prep to Year 12, and is accountable for the quality, coherence and ambition of the co-curricular Performing Arts program. The DOPA will be equally committed to the excellence of the most gifted performers and to creating a culture in which every student at All Saints can access and be transformed by the Performing Arts. Reporting to the Vice Principal, the DOPA is a prominent whole-school leader: setting artistic vision, leading and developing a talented team of teachers, conductors and visiting artists, forging external partnerships, and stewarding a program that reflects All Saints’ identity and Blueprint 2026+ strategy.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate, develop and implement a compelling strategic and artistic vision for Performing Arts across Prep to Year 12, aligned with school mission and strategic priorities.
  • Proven success leading Performing Arts within a high-performing educational setting, with evidence of whole-school program development and strong cultural leadership.
  • Advanced personal capability in Music and/or Drama, including high-level performance skills and strong experience in conducting, directing or ensemble leadership.
  • Proven success in growing student participation, lifting performance standards and creating inclusive pathways that support both excellence and broad student involvement.
  • Proven experience leading and developing large, diverse teams of teachers, conductors, directors and artists.
  • A genuine commitment to the School’s Christian ethos and alignment with the vision, mission and values.

Applicants must have relevant tertiary qualifications in Performing Arts, the right to work in Australia, and hold or be eligible for either Queensland teacher registration or a Working with Children Check (Blue Card). Music Education and/or Music Performance qualifications and postgraduate study will be highly regarded.

All Saints Anglican School has zero tolerance for child abuse and is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, as outlined in the Child Protection Policy.
