Cleaner In Charge

We are seeking to establish a pool of Cleaners in Charge for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

As Cleaner in Charge, you would play a vital leadership role in ensuring our school environment is safe, hygienic, and welcoming. You would induct, coordinate, and supervise cleaning staff, maintain timebooks, manage absences, and arrange relief staff. You will also oversee the safe storage and handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and hygiene protocols. In addition, you would actively participate in school grounds cleaning while supporting and assisting your fellow colleagues.

Eligibility

To work with us, you will need to:

  • obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

    • Demonstrated ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.
