Lutheran School Wagga Wagga is an Independent Christian School with 330 students. Our employee community is a passionate and dedicated team, committed to shaping faithful hearts and curious minds for a life of purpose.

We now invite applications for a Primary Teacher who will commence in July 2026. This position will be for a 12 month maternity leave position. We’re looking for a classroom teacher who knows how to genuinely connect with students and has a passion for teaching that translates far beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to select and use appropriately, a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies to suit the needs of a diverse range of students
  • Assessment and reporting practices – ability to provide constructive feedback to parents
  • Excellent classroom management
  • Willingness to support the Christian ethos of Lutheran School
  • Demonstrate, develop and maintain both effective practices in teaching and learning and positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Create a nurturing, ordered, and learner-centred environment that supports student engagement and achievement
  • Collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs using the NSW curriculum; evaluate their effectiveness; assess and report student progress; and report these to students, parents and the community
  • Commitment to meet quality standards; and the willingness to update their technical skills and knowledge on a regular basis
  • Employ differentiated, inclusive, and equitable teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and to engage students in their learning.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and sensitively with staff, parents and students
  • A current NSW Education Teacher registration (NESA)
  • Teaching experience preferably in Junior Primary
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check
  • As a teacher of Christian Studies, a willingness to attain the accreditation required by Lutheran Education.

  • Professional skills that foster partnerships with students, parents, and staff
  • Knowledge of current education practice and NESA curriculum documents
  • Confidence, flexibility, teamwork, and perseverance in a learning community
  • Ability to support the Christian ethos of the school community
