Year 5 Classroom Teacher- Term 4 only (2026)

Cana Catholic School is seeking to employ a classroom teacher to join our Year 5 team in Term 4 2026 as a maternity leave replacement position. The successful applicant will have:

• An understanding of and a willingness to embrace the MACS 2030 Strategy, including the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.
• A passion for learning and teaching and will be able to build strong relationships with students.
• The ability to lead the learning in the classroom with an understanding of the Science of Learning and Explicit Instruction e.g. retrieval practices, Daily Review and Checking for Understanding.
• An ability to foster a classroom culture based on consistent predictable routines.
• A collaborative mindset and a commitment to working in a team environment.
• Knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and the ability to plan and implement engaging learning experiences for all students.
• Proficiency in the use of relevant technology to enhance student learning.
• Commitment to the Catholic ethos and will support the Catholic Identity of the school.

Applicants should have:

• Current VIT registration
• Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school, or a commitment to undertake this study in the future
• A willingness to comply with the school’s Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct.
