The Role

We are looking for a skilled educator who ideally has a proven capacity to raise the profile of Languages within a primary school setting through innovative teaching practices and authentic learning experiences. The ideal applicant will deliver a rich and vibrant Languages program that nurtures a love of language learning while expanding students' awareness of diverse communities, traditions and perspectives. They will ideally display the ability to engage families, community members and cultural groups to enrich the Languages program and create meaningful connections between language, culture and student learning.

Our current Languages program is Indonesian; however, our priority is to engage an exceptional Languages teacher who can deliver a high-quality program that fosters curiosity, confidence and a genuine enthusiasm for language learning. As such, applicants with the expertise in other languages are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a collaborative and reflective educator who works with all staff to ensure Languages is visible, valued and embedded across the school.
  • Display a strong commitment to language learning, intercultural understanding and developing students’ global awareness.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging and inclusive lessons that cater for diverse learning needs, abilities and interests.
  • Create authentic opportunities for students to apply their language skills while developing an understanding of different people, cultures, places and traditions.
  • Support whole-school approaches by embedding Languages within mainstream classrooms and broader school initiatives.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, families and the wider community while working collaboratively as part of a professional team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, innovation and enhancement of the school’s Languages program, promoting its profile and value across the school.

  • hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
