Manager - Governance and Reporting

The Role

The Manager, Infrastructure Governance and Reporting plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the Department's statewide infrastructure investment program. Leading a team, you will provide the governance, financial management, reporting and project support functions that underpin the delivery of major capital works, maintenance and asset investment programs. This role will also lead the establishment of a new infrastructure asset information and data area for the analysis and provision of informant for both internal and external stakeholders.

This role is suited to a highly organised and analytical leader who enjoys bringing structure, oversight and accountability to complex programs of work. Rather than managing the delivery of individual projects, you will oversee the governance frameworks, financial controls, reporting systems and business processes and data analysis that enables successful outcomes for the division. You will monitor project budgets and resource utilisation, evaluate project and program performance, identify emerging risks and trends, and provide high-quality reporting and strategic advice to support informed decision-making by senior executives. You will also work with internal stakeholders to support asset information and data analysis and reporting requirements of the division.

Working across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure initiatives, you will develop and maintain governance frameworks, ensure compliance with legislative and departmental requirements, and lead the financial governance of infrastructure programs, including budgeting, resource management, financial monitoring and business case development. You will oversee project performance reporting and provide accurate, timely reporting on the Department's asset investment program, maintenance investment, Finance and Investment Committee reporting, Corporate Executive reporting and whole-of-government initiatives.

The role also leads the preparation of executive reports, Ministerial briefing notes, parliamentary responses and other strategic documentation, ensuring complex information is translated into clear, evidence-based advice. You will analyse performance data to identify trends, opportunities and critical success factors, driving continuous improvement in governance, reporting frameworks, systems and business processes to strengthen organisational capability and support better investment decisions.

Working closely with Directors, project teams, the Department of Housing and Works and other key stakeholders, you will build strong partnerships that support effective governance across the Infrastructure division. You will also lead the ongoing enhancement of reporting systems, quality assurance processes and technology solutions to improve the efficiency, consistency and quality of governance and reporting services.
