Teacher - K-6

We are seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood Education and Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Capel Primary School (PS) is located in a quiet, picturesque semi-rural setting bordered by the Capel River to the east and farmland to the south. The spacious school grounds and lush playing fields are enhanced by red gum and peppermint trees and an area of remnant bush in the north-west corner.

Capel PS is held in high regard by the local and wider community due to its achievements in student learning, quality teaching by the caring and professional staff and the shared beliefs we have with our active and supportive families.

Over many years, Capel PS has developed what is known as "The Capel Way". This represents the integration of evidence-based teaching practices, research-informed whole-school approaches, and Positive Behaviour Support frameworks that consistently promote and celebrate our values of Personal Best, Independence, Respect, and Caring. These values underpin all aspects of school life and contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. The success of the Capel Way is strengthened by the dedication, expertise, and commitment of our experienced teaching and support staff. Together, they maintain high expectations for every child and work tirelessly to ensure students are supported to achieve their academic, social, and emotional potential. Providing a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment remains at the heart of everything we do.

We would encourage any applicant to this Teaching Pool to read our current 2024-2027 business plan found on our school website. While not essential, experience in our whole school learning programs is encouraged.

The Role

We are actively seeking early childhood and primary teachers (K-6) with exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. As a primary teacher you would promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, setting high expectations and cultivating a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development.

Ideally you will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to delivering best practices. The capacity to excel in an environment characterised by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth is highly valued.

As a member of our team, you would leverage high-impact teaching strategies and showcase experience in designing and delivering engaging literacy and numeracy programs. An understanding of differentiation to meet diverse student needs is highly valued, along with proficiency in utilising various assessment tools to inform progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide future classroom planning.
