Teacher - K-6

We are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Southern Grove PS is located in Southern River and is nestled within a quiet residential community close to parks, natural bushland and local shopping centres.

Opening in 2018, our school features state-of-the-art facilities, including purpose-built early childhood and primary classrooms, a library, science room, music room, visual arts room, undercover area and tennis courts. Students benefit exceptional indoor and outdoor learning environments designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and success.

At Southern Grove PS, we are proud of our strong culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Our staff work together to create engaging learning experiences while fostering positive relationships with students, families and the wider community.

Our Approach to Teaching and Learning

At Southern Grove PS, we believe every child deserves a learning environment that inspires curiosity, builds confidence and develops a lifelong love of learning. We are committed to providing engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences that empower every student to thrive.

Our teachers embrace the Walker Learning Approach from Kindergarten to Year 6, creating vibrant learning environments where students are encouraged to be independent, creative thinkers and active participants in their learning. Through purposeful play, inquiry and explicit teaching, we foster strong academic growth alongside the development of critical social and emotional skills.

Knowledge and experience in the Walker Learning Approach would be highly regarded; however, it is not essential. We welcome passionate educators who are eager to learn and contribute to our innovative whole-school approach.

Experience and understanding of evidence-based programs and practices, including UFLI Foundations, Word Origins, Talk for Reading, Talk for Writing and Top Ten Maths, would be advantageous. We are seeking educators who are committed to continually refining their practice, embracing contemporary educational research and delivering high-quality instruction that ensures every student can achieve success.

Our staff are supported through collaborative planning, coaching, professional learning and a culture of continuous improvement. We value educators who are reflective, open to feedback and committed to making a positive impact on student outcomes.
