Our mission is to provide high-quality Christian education within a welcoming space where every individual belongs, unlocking the potential of each student to develop confident, active learners who improve their world.
The Opportunity
Are you an exceptional leader, a brilliant classroom teacher, and passionate about shaping a dynamic sporting culture?
We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and organised Head of Sport (K-12) to lead and elevate all aspects of our school-based and representative sports programs. Directly responsible to the Director of Student Wellbeing, your leadership will encompass:
- Program Leadership: Oversee the K-12 sporting calendar, manage event compliance (risk assessments, transport), and direct the Sports Administrator.
- Carnivals & Weekly Sport: Lead major Senior and Junior School carnivals (Swimming, Cross Country, Athletics) and coordinate secondary weekly sports options.
- Representative Pathways: Represent the College at SASSA and AICES forums, managing student selections and communication with parents.
- Community Culture: Elevate school spirit, celebrate student achievements, and source/deploy qualified coaches.
- Pastoral Care: Work with wellbeing staff to help students successfully balance academic and sporting demands.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- An active and sensitive commitment to the Christian gospel, its values, and its place in an independent Anglican school context (with active involvement in a local church).
- A recognized teaching degree (e.g., Bachelor of Education or post-graduate teaching qualifications) and eligibility for accreditation with the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA).
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Outstanding organisational and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage busy daily operations and work effectively under time pressure.
- The capacity to liaise warmly and professionally with a diverse network of internal and external stakeholders (parents, students, local sports vendors, SASSA/AICES officials).
What We Offer
- Leadership Recognition: A Coordinator Level 2 position with time allowance to ensure you have the space to lead effectively.
- Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a dedicated, supportive Senior Teaching Team.
- Professional Growth: Opportunities to innovate within a developing role and shape the future of K-12 sport on the South Coast.
