The School Council is seeking a Principal who is an exceptional educational leader, strategic - relational, and faith-driven - who will honour the School’s Lutheran identity while confidently leading innovation in a contemporary educational landscape. The new Principal will lead the implementation of the 2028 – 2032 Strategic Plan and play a key role in shaping the School's future Masterplan.

Grace Lutheran Primary School is a thriving, dynamic, stand-alone primary school on the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula. The school is well established with a distinct history that still influences the positive community culture 55 years after opening its doors. The School has beautiful modern facilities and is a well-established and resourced school of around 500 students (P-6). We have a co-located Early Learning Centre onsite, catering for children from 2-5 years of age.

The School Council invites applications for the position of Principal to commence from 1 January 2027.

We are well known for our supportive caring community, strong development of literacy and numeracy skills, successful sporting programs and competition, and our thriving performing arts opportunities. We believe that little people can achieve great things. We set our standards high and strive to develop independence, inquiry and initiative in our learners.

Grace is a school on an upward trajectory. Over the past 10 years significant work has occurred to improve academic results using explicit teaching as a strategy in numeracy and literacy and also to embed inquiry as a pedagogy for other subjects in the school.

The master plan for the school was refreshed in 2023 and a 25m and learn to swim pool is currently being built as part of that plan. An extensive Performing Arts program is an important part of our school offerings as well as a camping program which commences in Year 1 and concludes with a 5 day trip to Canberra in Year 6. Other subjects offered as specialist areas include STEM, Christian Studies, Japanese and Physical Education. Our school is a foundational member of the Northern Independent Schools Sporting Association which involves a wide-ranging program for students in Years 4 - 6.

The School has an excellent reputation and attracts and retains outstanding staff members to work collaboratively with the School Principal. The student population is well supported by parents and grandparents who form a very positive community. Other connections to Grace places on the Peninsula include Grace Lutheran College which caters for students from Years 7 – 12 and Grace Lutheran Church.

The successful applicant will:

• Be an active communicant member of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ).
• Be accredited as a leader in Lutheran Schools or be eligible and willing to work towards accreditation.
• Have significant and successful experience in teaching and educational administration.
• Have the capacity for Christian witnessing and servant leadership to further the nurturing of the Christian mission of the school and encourage and develop a caring community.
• Hold or be eligible for teacher registration in Queensland through the Queensland College of Teachers.
