SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time
Location: Islington, London
Salary: £1,800 - £2,400 per month
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract: Full-time
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and make positive academic and social progress within a supportive classroom environment.
The role would suit candidates with previous SEN experience, school-based experience, or graduates looking to gain valuable experience in education, psychology, or child development.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Assist with classroom activities and targeted interventions
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
Essential:
- GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- Experience working with children or within an SEN setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs
- Teaching Assistant experience within a school setting
- Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject
