Job Description

Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2025.

The Wantirna South Campus is seeking a part-time (FTE 0.6) Music teacher for Years 7–10. You’ll have the opportunity to inspire students to explore their musical talents, guide them in developing technical skills, and help them express themselves with confidence and creativity through performance and composition.

Commencing in 2026, you’ll join a community of educators who are learners themselves, committed to professional growth, collaborative practice, and the shared calling of preparing young people to live out their faith and learning for the sake of others.

The successful applicant must:

  • Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Be able to teach Music
  • Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
  • Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.

Waverley Christian College is committed to providing best practice support for graduate teachers and teachers who are new to Christian Education. Our Graduate Teacher Program includes time release, mentoring, equipping for Christian Education and a comprehensive induction program that will help to develop the skills and competencies needed to become an effective classroom practitioner.

A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011), CPR Certificate (HLTAID009), and Anaphylaxis Certificate (22578VIC or HLTAID012) are also required prior to starting in the role.
