Spearwood Primary School (PS) is a small school with around 120 students K to Year 6. Our student population is drawn from a range of cultural backgrounds with many nationalities represented. Spearwood PS became an Independent Public school in 2017 and is currently in its this third three-year Business Plan 2023 – 2025. Spearwood PS runs specialist programs in: Italian, Science, Art and Physical Education in 2025.

The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and resourceful School Officer to join our administrative team. This is a key support role, providing essential services that help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school.
In this role the successful applicant will be the first point of contact for our school, creating a welcoming and professional front office environment. You will be responsible for reception duties, including greeting visitors, answering the telephone, and responding to routine enquiries and requests for information in an efficient and friendly manner. The successful applicant should have a friendly, positive, and caring attitude and possess the qualities to promote excellence within our school and to interact with parents and the wider community.
You would provide general clerical and administrative support, including preparing correspondence, newsletters, website updates, notices, distribute and collect documents, forms, and mail, collect and receipt monies, operate and maintain office equipment, input data and generate reports, assist with maintenance of school facilities, and support student-related activities such as maintaining attendance records and assist with the student enrolment procedures. The successful applicant will ideally have experience with a range of software packages, particularly databases and word processing. A knowledge of SWAY, Kaartidjin, Compass, Student Information Systems (SIS) and RM Billing would be desirable.
The successful applicant would be responsible for supporting the Manager of Corporate Services in administration of the schools marketing, financial, physical, and human resources whilst upholding confidentiality and security of sensitive material. You should aid other members of the school administration team with maintaining school data base records and management information systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
You should possess strong attention to detail and work well within a team environment. You will ideally have strong organisational skills and be able to deliver outcomes while working to deadlines in a sometimes-challenging environment.
