The Infrastructure Governance and Reporting branch is responsible for the financial management reporting functions and governance across the Infrastructure division. The branch is responsible for the financial operations of the division including statutory and external financial reporting requirements, liaising with internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to Infrastructure finance, ensuring management accounting and budgeting requirements are met and preparing accounts for payment against capital and recurrent budgets.
The Role
This role is responsible for providing specialist financial and strategic support in the governance and management of capital works programs. The position develops, implements, and reviews financial policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and Western Australian Treasury requirements. It consolidates financial data from multiple sources to prepare and deliver timely reports and conducts detailed financial and project analysis to inform decision-making and enhance program performance. The role also provides recommendations on capital works budgets and expenditure, evaluates financial systems and processes for improvement, and contributes to the development of business intelligence tools and record-keeping frameworks to support divisional initiatives.
In addition to managing governance and compliance requirements, the role supports long-term capital investment planning, conducts financial risk assessments, and manages reporting for Commonwealth and other externally funded programs. The position provides leadership and guidance to team members, fosters a safe and inclusive workplace, and contributes to change management initiatives. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is key, including providing expert financial advice, representing the division on departmental committees, and contributing to Ministerial and Parliamentary responses. A strong customer service focus and commitment to continuous improvement underpin all aspects of the role.

- Demonstrated substantial knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Government policy and direction and experience in contemporary financial management, including budget preparation, resource management and reporting and financial control in a large/complex organisation.
- Demonstrated substantial experience in the management of governance and risk of complex projects.
- Demonstrated substantial experience in the use of financial management information systems and budget tools.
Generic
- Demonstrated and highly developed analytical, conceptual and research skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems in the context of financial governance and accountability.
