The Role

The role of the Network Support Officer (NSO) is to maintain the school’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and network, ensuring reliability and sustainability to enhance the learning environment.

The successful applicant will provide advice on technical issues and collaborate with administration to maintain and develop the network system. They will also provide technical support and training to all users throughout the school site on various software applications and provide access to systems and resources. In this role, the NSO will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of information systems and ICT equipment in accordance with the school business needs and Department of Education policies and guidelines. This includes maintaining accurate records of ICT assets and resources and the development, implementation, and monitoring of a replacement plan.

The successful applicant will ideally work as part of a versatile team, liaise with other Department of Education personnel and communicate with external providers. Experience working in a school would be highly desirable and in particular a thorough understanding of standard operating systems and their associated software. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people and professionals to deliver customer service. The ability to build strong relationships and to work well with key stakeholders is highly desirable.

This is a diverse position as it is shared with four partner primary schools (PS), Cassia PS, Baler PS, Port Hedland PS & South Hedland PS. This shared arrangement includes 1-2 days per fortnight at a primary school and the remainder time at Hedland SHS. The timing and schedule may be flexible to accommodate the needs of each primary school.

    5. Demonstrated practical experience in developing and implementing user-training procedures.
